The Film Academy of Sciences USA give the list of shortlisted to compete in the category of Best Animated Short in what will be the 84th edition of the Oscars, as well as the list of movies with the best visual EFET year..

 

 

As they say, are not all they are, but who are those who, according to experts at the Academy are the best animated shorts of 2011. In alphabetical order, we find:

  • Dimanche/Sunday;  Patrick Doyon (National Film Board of Canada).
  • The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore;  William Joyce y Brandon Oldenburg (Moonbot Studios LA, LLC).
  • I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat;  Matthew O’Callaghan, director and Sam Register, executive producer (Warner Bros. Animation Inc.).
  • La Luna;  Enrico Casarosa (Pixar Animation Studios).
  • Luminaris;  Juan Pablo Zaramella (JPZtudio).
  • Magic Piano;  Martin Clapp (BreakThru Films).
  • A Morning Stroll;  Grant Orchard (Studio AKA).
  • Paths of Hate;  Damian Nenow (Platige Image).
  • Specky Four-Eyes;  Jean-Claude Rozec (Vivement Lundi!).
  • Wild Life;  Amanda Forbis y Wendy Tilby (National Film Board of Canada).

Of these, a regular highlight of these is the short-listed as Pixar Animation Studios, "Luna", and Paths of Hate, winner of last year's Mundos Digitales 2011.Como novelty, the finalists will be 5, not 3 as before.

Moreover, in terms of feature films, The 15 shortlisted films are:

  • “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2″.

  • “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol”.
  • “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”.
  • “Real Steel”.
  • “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”.
  • “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”.
  • “Sucker Punch”.
  • “Super 8″.
  • “Thor”.
  • “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”.
  • “The Tree of Life”.
  • “X-Men: First Class”.

In January this list, with films that have not yet been released, will be reduced to 10 to stay finally in the final five candidates will compete for the Oscar for the 84th edition of the most prestigious awards in the film industry.
